Victoria MG Club ... Octagon Newsletter Articles
Introduction
The following articles are, for the most, written by past and present members of the Victoria MG Club. Jack Baker (humourist), Alan Fraser (expert in all things MG) and Peter Lee (historical consultant) have contributed greatly to the collection.
Club History ... club mandate, description of annual awards and a review of the first twenty years of the club's history, written by the founding 'father' of the club Alan Fraser.
Do-It Yourself ... occasionally humourous look at carrying out enhancements and repairs on vehicles ... an indication of the occasional hardships involved in conducting your own repairs!!
Events ... catalogue of annual events enjoyed by the membership, with a pictorial presentation of some events which give an indication of the nature of the club excursions.
Historical ... articles written on many aspects of the development of the MG marque as it has progressed through the years. Accompanied by the occasional photograph where such was available.
Members and Their Cars ... written by Wayne Watkins, these articles give a synopsis of the career of members and their acquisition of various vehicles over their lifetime.
On the Road ... humourous look at the foibles of human nature and transportation.
Piston Broke Awards ... anecdotes of the trials and tribulations of owning and operating a vehicle which occasionally may cause some concern and frustration.
Reflections ... stories of adventures, excursions and experiences that have occurred. Some of the articles are accompanied by photographs relevant to the dialogue.
Tech Tips ... collection of tips and techniques relative to the maintenance and repair of various vehicles. The tips were provided by various individuals, but most notably by club member Mike Owen who is known as the 'Wizard' ... with good reason!!
